Heinrich Glessner

Heinrich was born in Europe around 1728.  He came to America aboard the ship Richmond on October 5, 1763 with his brothers Peter and Jacob and a sister Margaretha.  It I believed they came from the Alsace Lorraine.  He married Anna Elizabeth Adam who was born on May 23, 1738 and died on March 12, 1802.  They had nine children:  Margaret (1761), Henry (1763), Anna Maria (1765), Nicholas (1768), Jacob (1771), Peter (1774), Sophia (1777), Maria Elizabeth(1779) and John (1781).

He was a very early settler of Brothersvalley Township, Bedford County.  He was one of the founding members of the German Reformed Church in Berlin, Bedford County (now Somerset County) that was established in 1777.  His daughter, Sophia, was the first recorded baptism in the church records.

He obtained a warrant for 311 ¼ acres in Brothersvalley Township on October 5, 1784 which was located about one and one half miles east of Berlin.  He obtained another warrant for 235 ¼ acres on February 16, 1786.  The later parcel was located about one mile east of Berlin.

He died in 1814.

Heinrich paid the supply tax in Brothersvalley Township, Bedford County in 1781.
